Application Fee Waiver

AGEP-eligible applicants may request an application fee waiver from the AGEP Program. This is not a reimbursement and therefore, the request should be made prior to the submission of the application. Our office will provide a form which is to be submitted in place of a check. There is also an option to choose "AGEP" as the form of payment in the Apply Yourself online application system; however, if the student is not eligible for AGEP, the application will be considered incomplete until payment is received by the Graduate School. This could cause a problematic delay in the processing of the students´ application. Therefore, pre-approval is recommended. A request for an application fee waiver can be found here

GRE

Every fall, AGEP organizes and sponsors a GRE Study Group for Stony Brook University LSAMP and CSTEP students. The study groups provide a structured environment to enable students to prepare for the GRE exam through constant practice and skills enhancement in an effort to increase the likelihood of maximal performance on the day of the exam.

The sessions meet on a weekly basis starting on September 25th and ending on December 4 (no class on October 2). This year we are pleased to announce that Jeff Yule, Ph.D. student in Ecology and Evolution and Christine Brady, Ph.D. student in Applied Math and Statistics will be leading these sessions.

The graduate students serve not only as instructors but also as facilitators to enable students to help each other by sharing tips, becoming familiar with the question style, and constant practice to enhance the speed and accuracy of answering the questions.

Registration is a must because space is limited. Committed participation and regular attendance is expected and will be monitored. All participants will be expected to purchase "Cracking the GRE" 2006 Edition by the Princeton Review.
