Heejeong Sohn received her B.A. in English Linguistics with a minor in Language Education from Hankuk University of Foreign Studies in Seoul and her M.A. in Museum Studies at the University of Oregon, OR. She joined the Stony Brook University in Spring 2003 as an adjunct. Her research interrest has been centered on teaching methodology for a student group of diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds. Her research also includes the early relationship between Korean and the US and the lives of American men and women in Korea before and after the Japanese colonization of Korea. Heejeong currently teaches elementary and intermediate courses of Korean language and has been actively involved in planning and introducing Korean culture and arts on and outside the campus.
