
Ellen
has been associated with the Center for many years; first as an undergraduate
work study student, later as a graduate student assistant, as a professional
academic advisor and as Director. She holds three degrees from Stony Brook
(B.A., M.A., and Ph.D.) all in Sociology. Ellen teaches SBU 101 and has
taught several classes as an adjunct in the Sociology and Women’s
Studies Departments. She currently serves on the Intercollegiate Athletics
Board, Protestant Campus Ministry Board of Directors, UUP (United University
Professionals) Executive Board and the Commuter Student Affairs Advisory
Board. This year, 2003-04, she is coordinating the Academic Peer Advisor
Internship and the Rotating Faculty Advisors. Ellen serves as the academic
advisor to our long standing Division I Women’s Soccer Team and
is an Honorary Member of the Golden Key National Honor Society.
