The Office for Brookhaven Affairs handles activities associated with Stony Brook's management of Brookhaven National Laboratory.

The Office originated with President Shirley Strum Kenny's appointment of Robert McGrath as Vice President for Brookhaven Affairs.

The Vice President for Brookhaven Affairs (VPBA) advises the President on BNL Affairs, and represents Stony Brook, in the President's absence, on BNL matters with the Department of Energy, community and business groups, elected officials, and SUNY officials.

The Office also encourages partnerships between SBU and BNL and can provide SBU faculty, students and staff with information regarding the lab.
