When an item is ordered, the Purchasing Department will send a copy of the purchase order to Central Receiving. When the item arrives on campus it is inspected by Receiving personnel, and if correct and undamaged, delivered to the customer. The average turn around time between the time an item arrives at Receiving and receipt by the customer is 1-2 days.

The "Optional Inspection" program is for departments who wish to inspect their own deliveries for a faster receipt of goods. If you choose the "Optional Inspection" program you can have your goods within 24 hours of arrival on campus. To utilize this program, just write "DO NOT INSPECT" on your requisition.

If you need to return any items you must fill out form SUSB 114, Return/Shipments Request form and mail or fax to Central Receiving. When Central Receiving receives this form, they will pick up the item from your department. You must also attach a completed mail requisition for UPS shipping charges.
