Up for Fun
From scoring a goal on the big fields to swimming in our indoor pool,
campers will have the opportunity to play their favorite sports and games
during their daily three hours of recreational programming.
Dive Right In!
Most campers will enjoy approximately one hour of pool time each day (except
those in blocks 8 and 12). Our six-lane, 25-yard swimming pool provides
plenty of room for doing laps, playing Marco Polo, practicing for the
next Olympics, or just splashing around.
All pool-time activities will be supervised by Water Safety Instructors
(WSIs), licensed lifeguards, and camp counselors. Medical staff will be
on duty at all times.
Shoot for the Stars
Campers will take to the fields where many of our 19 NCAA Division I Seawolves
teams play each season. Stony Brook competes on the super-tough Division
I level, which has pushed our athletic program to strive to the highest
level in the athletic arena. Stony Brooks Sports Complex is considered
one of the premier athletic facilities on Long Island, second only to
Nassau Coliseum. Stony Brook has hosted many special sporting events,
such as the Empire State Games, high school championships, and more. Furthermore,
the facility is expanding with the construction of a new 7,500-seat stadium.
The outdoor facilities that campers will use extend over 25 acres and
feature the 2,000-seat Seawolves field used by our football and lacrosse
teams. The soccer complex contains two fenced-in fields, and the baseball
and softball fields have both been recently renovated. Additional outdoor
facilities include 12 tennis courts, a six-lane, 400-meter running track,
four single-wall handball/paddleball courts, and an intramural area for
softball, flag football, soccer, and many other sports.
Campers will be grouped by grade level and ability and may even choose
one sports block for the duration of their attendance. Each block will
be designed to progress according to the number of weeks your child will
be attending camp.
Field Day Fridays
Every other Friday campers can look forward to special team competitions,
field events, a barbecue, and a certificate ceremony.
