SB DHS Regulated Chemical Inventory Database

EH&S is coordinating the University response to DHS and assisting departments, faculty, and staff in attaining compliance with this regulation. The resources below provide information and guidance on doing so. All areas will need to:

  1. Review the list of regulated chemicals,
  2. Perform a physical inventory using the worksheet provided, and
  3. Report using the Stony Brook DHS Regulated Chemical Inventory Database below, even if they do not possess any of the listed chemicals.

Instructions on how to use the SB DHS Regulated Chemical Inventory Database are available online after you log into the database.

You will need to have a Lotus Notes account to access this system. When prompted, the username is your email ID (i.e. jsmith@notes.cc.sunysb.edu would be jsmith) and the password is your Lotus Notes Internet password. If you are having trouble accessing this system, please follow the troubleshooting guide below.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: The deadline (01/31/08) for submitting an initial chemical survey for your area(s) via the on-line database has ended. However, you may use the link below to view any inventory previously submitted. Please contact Kim Auletta to submit updates or provide new inventories.

Troubleshooting Guide

If you do not have a Lotus Notes account and would like to obtain one:
Faculty/Staff: Cick here to apply for an account on-line.
Students: You must apply for an account in-person at select SINC site locations.
Wait up to one business day for your application to process.
If you already have a Lotus Notes account:
Some early users of Lotus Notes may need to set/reset their Internet password. Follow these instructions to set/reset the Internet password:
  • Start Lotus Notes and click on the "Favorite Bookmarks" on your Bookmark Toolbar (The icon is a yellow folder with an orange star on it).
  • Open "SUNYSB's Address Book."
  • On the left pane, make sure "People" is highlighted. If it isn't, click on it once to highlight it.
  • On the right pane, locate your name on the list.
  • Once you select your name, click on the button labeled "Edit Person."
  • The last item under the "Basics" tab, is "Internet Password." Click on the "Enter Password" button. You will be prompted to enter your password. The password is case-sensitive. After you have finished typing in your password, click on the "OK" button.
  • Click on the button labeled "Save and Close." This completes your Internet password setup.
  • Wait at least one hour for this change to take effect.
