Hazardous & Regulated Medical Waste Management Training
If you work with* hazardous chemical waste or regulated medical waste, you are required to take the appropriate Environmental Health and Safety Waste Management Training Class.
You are only required to take the section that applies to your work duties. Training section 1 applies to Hazardous Chemical Waste Management and section 2 applies to Regulated Medical Waste Management.
If you work with both regulated medical waste and hazardous chemical waste you are required to take both training sections.
Before you begin, download and print out the test & certification page, then open the training section you are required to take and scroll (page down) through the training program.
The time required may vary. Answer any questions using the answer sheet provided, fill out the Training Certification sheet and return it to EH&S. A training certificate will be sent to you. If you have any questions contact EH&S.
* The term "to work with" or manage hazardous/regulated medical waste means you:
- decide if a material is a hazardous/regulated medical waste or not
- add hazardous/regulated medical waste into accumulation containers
- transport hazardous/regulated medical waste from the accumulation point (lab) to another location
- inspect hazardous/regulated medical waste storage areas
- respond to spills involving hazardous/regulated medical waste

Universal Waste Management Training
If you generate, package, prepare for shipment, manage collection and storage activities and/or transport universal waste, you are required to take the Universal Waste Management Training Class.
Before you begin, download and print out the test & certification page, then open the training program and scroll through it (page down).
The time required may vary. Answer any questions using the test key provided, fill out the Training Certification sheet and return it to EH&S. A training certificate will be sent to you. If you have any questions contact EH&S.
