FAHSS is an initiative of Provost Robert McGrath to encourage interdisciplinary dialogue, research, and teaching, in the Fine Arts, Humanities, and lettered Social Sciences at Stony Brook. We invite faculty, students, and staff to become part of this effort to develop the distinctive strengths of our home departments, to build interdisciplinary contacts across the FAHSS departments, to work toward partnerships with other areas across the campus, and to take part in national and international discussions about the future of our disciplines.
