The Vacation Exchange Program for Management/Confidential employees for 2008 has been approved.
Management/Confidential employees are permitted to exchange up to 5 days of accumulated vacation credits for an equivalent cash payment. The payment will be made during the first week of December 2008 and will be based on the employee's rate of pay on October 1, 2008.
An eligible employee who has elected the benefit, but who leaves State service before the payment date, would be paid at the salary in effect when he/she leaves. Compensation received in exchange for vacation days is not part of the base annual salary and is not considered in computing retirement benefits.
Eligibility
The election period begins April 1, through July 9, 2008. To be eligible to participate, employees must have 35 or more days of vacation credits at any time during the period of April 1, 2008 through July 9, 2008, in order to elect to exchange from 1 - 5 days of accruals. Employees who would like to participate should complete the election form HRSF0076 and submit it by July 9, 2008:
