U.S. Congressmen Tim Bishop and Bart Gordon visit the Center

Congressmen Tim Bishop (Stony Brook) and Bart Gordon (Chair, House Committee on Science and Technology) visited the Center for Science and Mathematics Education on Monday, May 5. The visit was in advance of Dr Bynum's talk on "Entrepreneurship in Science Education" at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars in Washington, DC on May 6th. The congressmen were interested in viewing the innovations taking place at the Center and their potential to impact science education on a national scale.

They met Joan Kiely, director of the Biotechnology Teaching Center, and toured the labs where 4000 high school and middle school students are taught biotechnology laboratory techniques annually.
