The Avram Gallery:
To embrace art as a means to understand, enrich and intensify – the study of nature, scientific investigation and cultural evolution.
The East End of Long Island has long been a garden of artists with deep roots and broad vistas. The Avram Gallery plays a special role in enriching the fertile culture of the East End.
Since the area abounds in commercial galleries and two regional museums that have the exhibition of local artists as central to their mission, the Avram gallery focuses on exhibiting established artists that have had solo museum exhibitions and have significant publications about their work that are not self-published.
Work selected for exhibition must be tied directly to study of the environment, scientific research that benefits the environment, establishing a cultural sense of place (the east end) and/ or celebrating great works of literature associated with the renowned writers conference held on campus every summer.
If you fit the above criteria you may submit your artwork for consideration during the months of June and July. Keep in mind that the gallery has 875 square feet of exhibition space. It will take approximately 6-8 weeks to review your submission and any work received after July 31 will not be reviewed.
Please include the following in your submission:
- Contact information
- Images of your work - photos, printouts, or any format except cd or disk
- Resume, catalogues / books
- Self-addressed, stamped envelope for the return of the materials.
We look forward to seeing your work!
