Board of Finance

The Board of Finance was developed to ensure that students at Southampton would have the opportunity to create the campus life they are looking for.

All approved clubs and organizations and any student interested in programming for the students of Southampton can stop by to ask questions during the Board of Finance's office hours in the Tree House Lounge Conference Room.

The Board of Finance meets every Tuesday beginning Sept. 8, 2009 at 6 p.m. in Chancellors Hall Room 201.

If you are interested in becoming a member of the Board of Finances, download our election packet here. Elections for the 2009-2010 Fall semester will take place on Tuesday, September 22 in the Student Center

Downloadable forms for clubs/organizations:

Voucher Forms: This form is needed to request any type of funding from the BOF/USG.  Also attached an invoice or breakdown of your expenses.  If a check is issued and you have to pick up the items, always remember to return your original receipt to the Office of Student Life and Leadership Development.

Budget Application: This form is needed when a student club/organization is requesting funds that are not already approved within their budget. Please allow two weeks for the Board of Finances to review the information.

Minutes and Attendance Form: This form must be accompanied by the Voucher Form in order for any funds to be dispersed. The minutes and attendance form is proof that majority of the organization agrees to the spending of the club budget.

Off-Campus Trip Form: This form is needed as tickets are sold from the Wellness Center staff.  This form needs to be returned to the Office of Student Life and Leadership Development 48 hours prior to the trip and the form must be completed in its entirety.

Signature Card: This form is needed when you submit your Club/Organization Registration packet. All signatures listed must match the signatures on the Voucher form and the Minutes and Attendance Forms. If at any time an executive position has changed a new signature card needs to be submitted to the Office of Student Life and Leadership Development.

Club/Organization Registration Packet: This form is needed when a group of students is starting a new club/organization on campus.

The Board of Finance is an agency of the Undergraduate Student Government. The Board of Finances receives funding based on the number of full time Stony Brook Southampton students that pay the undergraduate student activity fee. This fee is then dispersed between the clubs/organizations, campus wide programming, and The Board of Finance programming. The Board of Finance is governed by the Organic Act, the Undergraduate Student Government Constitution and the Financial By-Laws.
