Program Description

With a population of 12.4 million, Buenos Aires is the capital of Argentina and a main cultural center in Latin America. Students wil enjoy warm climate and a world class selection of museums, spectacles, and educational opportunities.

Program Highlights

  • Weekend trip to an authentic historical hacienda, " a Gaucho Estancia," outside of the Capital Federal.
  • Guided Tour of Buenos Aires including Tango and Dinner Show
  • Possible to satisfy a DEC-J
  • Day visit to a "Gaucho Estancia" typical Argentinian Ranch

Possible to satisfy a DEC-J; up to 4 credits towards graduation; work with distinguished faculty from Stony Brook University

Courses Offered

HUS 254 Latin American Today - 3 credits (DEC-J) (*taught in English)

SPN 392 The Culture & Civilization of Spanish America - 3 credits (DEC-G)

SPN 447 Directed Readings in Buenos Aires Culture and Social Development - 1 credit

Living Arrangements

Students will be housed in a 4-star hotel in downtown Buenos Aires.

Health Insurance

Stony Brook University includes international health insurance in Program fees.

Eligibility

All undergraduate college students in good academic standing may apply. There is NO language proficiency requirement.

 

Program and Tuition Fees

Program fees*: 2,200. Include double room, breakfast & dinner, cultural tours & activities, and international health insurance.

* Participants must pay all tuition & program fees before the departure date.

 

Tuition costs: $181.00/credit for NY residents; $442.00/credit for out-of-state residents

 

Deposit: A non-refundable administrative fee of $200 is due immediately after acceptance to the program. Your deposit will hold a place for you in the program.

Application Deadline

Applications are due November 1st and are considered on a first come first served basis; applicants will be notified when accepted.
