Study Abroad: Summer (July 4 - August 3, 2008)

Program Description

St. Petersburg has been Russia's cultural and political center since its creation by Peter the Great in the arly 18th century. This magical city is famours for its rivers, canals and bridges, its spectacular Orthodox Churches, broad riverways and little winding canals.

Students earn 6 to 9 credits studying in one of the world's most beautiful cities. Participants study at Russia's oldest university for 4 weeks, taking courses in Russian language and culture. Students also participate in the NY-St. Petersburg Institute of Cognitive and Cultural Studies, in interdisciplinary summer school attracting students from across Russia and throughout Europe.

Students live in dormitories at St. Petersburg State University by the beautiful Gulf of Finland

Health Insurance

Stony Brook University provides international health insurance to all participants.

Eligibility

All undergraduate and graduate students in good academic standing may apply. Language proficiency is NOT required.

 

Program and Tuition Fees

Program fees: Approximately $1,190.* Includes housing and international health insurance

* does not include airfare and administrative fees

 

Visa Fee: $150

 

Undergraduate Tuition costs: $181.00/credit for NY residents; $442.00/credit for out-of-state residents

Graduate Tuition costs: $288.00/credit for NY residents; $455.00/credit for out-of-state residents.
