Dramaturgy Central Fall 2006 |
| In
continuing to take a look at the SBU dramaturgs, we again focus
on MFA candidate Angie Balsamo and her Assistant Dramaturg, Cassie
Pressimone. Together, these production dramaturgs tackled Nilo Cruz's
haunting work Two Sisters and a Piano, the first production
in the fifth annual Long Island Play Project. Angie assembled comprehensive
program notes that gave the audience insight into the geopolitical
issues that inform Cruz's play as well as a playwright bio and biographical
background on the real-life inspiration for the main character,
María Elena Cruz Varela. To read the program notes, download
the PDF version here. Photo
