Inga Meier
MFA Candidate '07 |
Inga Meier (MFA 2007) received her
BA in English and Theatre Arts from Rutgers College. At Stony Brook,
she has worked as assistant dramaturg on Anton Chekhov's Three
Sisters (dir. Deborah Mayo) and as dramaturg on Rebecca Gilman’s
Boy Gets Girl (dir. Lauren Rosen). Recently, she has presented
a number of papers at academic conferences including Beyond
The Fear: The Relevance of Art and Theatre after September 11, 2001
at the 2005 SETC Theatre Conference, Auburn, AL; George Bernard
Shaw's "Heartbreak House" as a Template for Analyzing
9/11 Discourse in Theresa Rebeck's and Alexandra Gersten-Vassilaros
"Omnium Gatherum" at the 2006 International Sesquicentennial
Shaw Conference at Brown University, RI and Niels Mueller's
The Assassination of Richard Nixon and its Adaptation of Georg
Buechner's "Woyzeck" at the 2006 MMLA Conference
in Chicago, IL.
Currently, she is working as a dramaturg on a variety
of productions: Alex DeFazio's To Be Loved (dir. Jody Person)
to be produced at Chashama in Manhattan, a new adaptation of medieval
mystery places (dir. Sherry Teitelbaum) to be produced at Mercer
County Community College and Mary Zimmerman's Arabian Nights
(dir. Marie Danvers) to be produced at Suffolk County Community
College. Her translation of Georg Buechner's Woyzeck will
be presented at Mercer County Community College this semester. Additionally,
Inga is currently serving as a script reader at The Women's Project,
completing her cultural studies certificate, applying to PhD programs,
doing an internship at the Stony Brook Film Festival. |
