specific requirements to apply for our MA or MFA program. You must
complete an application and submit
it

Admission to the MA program in Theatre
Arts In
addition to the minimum Graduate
School requirements:
- A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- Advanced undergraduate courses in theatre history, dramatic
literature, and/or theatre practice
- Undergraduate grade point average of at least 3.0
- Three letters of recommendation
- Graduate Record Examination (GRE) General Test scores
- Supporting materials: a writing sample as well as other materials
such as scripts, essays, publications, portfolio, etc. (for the
returned work the applicant must include a SASE with the completed
application)
- Acceptance by both the Department of Theatre Arts AND the Graduate
School

Admission to the MFA program in Dramaturgy
This MFA is intensive and admission is highly selective. In addition
to the minimum Graduate School requirements, the following is required:
- A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- Advanced undergraduate courses in theatre history, dramatic
literature, and/or theatre practice
- Undergraduate grade point average of at least 3.0
- Three letters of recommendation
- Graduate Record Examination (GRE) General Test scores
- Supporting materials: a writing sample as well as other materials
such as scripts, essays, publications, portfolio, etc. (for the
returned work the applicant must include a SASE with the completed
application)
- Acceptance by both the Department of Theatre Arts AND the Graduate
School
- If so indicated on the application, an applicant
for the MFA program in dramaturgy can also be considered for admission
to the MA program in theatre arts, which runs parallel to the first
year of the MFA. If such an applicant is admitted instead to the
MA program he or she may then be considered for admission to the
second year of the MFA program.
